What You’ll Need

Coffee

  • ¾–1 cup cold brew coffee (concentrate or ready-to-drink)

Chocolate Cream

  • 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup or sauce
  • Optional: 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup

Ice

  • Enough to fill your glass

How to Make It

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  2. Pour cold brew coffee over the ice.
  3. In a small cup, mix milk or cream with chocolate syrup until smooth.
  4. Lightly froth or stir the chocolate cream.
  5. Pour the chocolate cream gently over the cold brew.

Optional Add-Ons

  • Extra creamy: Use heavy cream or sweet cream
  • Sweeter: Add vanilla syrup to the cream
  • Dessert-style: Finish with chocolate drizzle or cocoa powder

No frother? A whisk or shaking the cream in a jar works just fine.

Easy Swaps & Variations

  • Dairy-free: Use oat milk or almond milk creamer
  • Less sweet: Reduce chocolate syrup to ½ tablespoon
  • Stronger coffee: Use cold brew concentrate
  • Mocha vibe: Add a splash of vanilla to the cold brew

Best Coffee for This Recipe (from our shop)

Chocolate cream pairs best with cold brew that’s smooth, bold, and low in acidity. Medium-dark to dark roasts create a rich base without tasting bitter.

  • Recommended roast: Medium-dark or dark
  • Flavor notes to look for: chocolate, cocoa, toasted nut
  • Best brew style: Cold brew concentrate or ready-to-drink cold brew

Tips: Avoid very light or fruity roasts — they can clash with chocolate cream. The coarse grind is ideal for cold brew drinks or whole bean if you plan to grind your own beans.
